European Union officials pledged Tuesday to continue to support Ukraine on the 1,000th day of its war against Russia.

Namely, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a video message posted on X that Europe is Ukraine's "true friend" and promised that the EU will keep standing with Kiev "for as long as it takes." "You can rest assured that European and West support will continue to flow," she added.

Additionally, European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell noted in a post on the X platform that "supporting Ukraine has been one of the most important tasks" during his mandate, although he stressed that the level of assistance provided was insufficient. "The European Union will continue to advance support to help achieve victory for Ukraine and to bring peace to our continent," he concluded.
