Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi expressed "deep concern" over violent clashes in Sudan, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
The presidency added that Sisi spoke to United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the matter over the phone and that he called on both the Sudanese army and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to find a solution through dialogue.
Earlier, Guterres condemned the fighting in Sudan and called for an immediate end to the hostilities, warning that the escalation of clashes would have a "catastrophic" impact on civilians.
