Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again, comparing him to Adolf Hitler and voicing hope that he will avoid the Nazi Germany leader's fate.
"Netanyahu has long surpassed the tyrant Hitler in the crime of genocide. We hope their fates will not be the same," Erdogan said at his party meeting in Ankara.
Furthermore, the Turkish president emphasized that Iran has a "legitimate" right to defend itself in the face of Israel's offensive. "It is entirely natural, legitimate, and lawful for Iran to defend itself against Israel's banditry and state terrorism," Erdogan stated, adding that Turkey is "doing everything" to halt Israel's "inhumane aggression against Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and our neighbor Iran."
