Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blasted Israel on Thursday, calling it a "lawless" and "terrorist" country that is only using the Druze as an "excuse" for its aggression in Syria.
"Israel is a lawless, unruly, unprincipled, spoiled, pampered, and furious terrorist state. Using the Druze as an excuse, Israel has expanded its banditry to neighboring Syria over the past two days. At this stage, the biggest problem in our region is Israel's aggression. We did not consent to the disintegration of Syria yesterday, and we certainly will not consent to it today or tomorrow. Those who descend into the well using Israel's rope will sooner or later realize that they made a grave miscalculation," Erdogan said in a statement, adding that Israel "does not want peace" in either Gaza or Syria.
The Turkish president emphasized that Syria's stability would create stability in the whole region, and that his government will continue to monitor all developments in its southern neighbor country.
