Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (pictured left) pointed out on Tuesday the right of Palestine to be internationally recognized as a state and argued his country's commitment to assisting in achieving this goal.

"On the basis of 1967 borders, the state of Palestine should be established, with Jerusalem being its capital, so in order to realize this target we will do our share," Erdogan stated during a press conference alongside his Algerian counterpart Abdelmecid Tebboune (right) in Algiers.

Erdogan also criticized Israel's "collective punishments" in Gaza while adding that Turkey's priorities include "dispatching immediate humanitarian aid to the region with no interruptions and an immediate ceasefire."
