Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ensured on Tuesday that his country is ready to provide all necessary support to Syrian authorities in the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS) and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
"By acting in solidarity with Syria, I believe we will fully establish a climate of peace and security in our shared region, free from terrorism," Erdogan said at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Ahmed al-Sharaa in Ankara. He also pledged that Turkey will help rebuild devastated Syrian cities, urging other Arab countries to provide financial support to Syria.
In addition, the Turkish head of state stressed that sanctions imposed under ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are being lifted after Turkey's initiatives.
