Erdogan: Turkey will honor promise given to Finland

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed on Wednesday that his country will do its part and honor the promise given to Finland regarding that nation's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Speaking to reporters following his party AK key group's meeting, Erdogan vowed the issue of Finland's entry to the alliance will soon be on the Turkish parliament's agenda.

Meanwhile, Turkey's Directorate of Communications confirmed that Finnish President Sauli Niinisto will visit Istanbul on March 16 and 17 and meet with Erdogan on Friday.
