Erdogan: U.S. support for terrorists will backfire

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the United States on Thursday of openly supporting terrorists, which in his opinion may have a harmful outcome for Washington, Anadolu Agency reported.

He condemned U.S. actions in Syria stating NATO members are supposed to back each other instead of taking the side of terror groups. Erdogan added that Turkey has not received any help during its operations in Al-Bab in Syria from any of its NATO allies.

“Certain countries, the U.S. first and foremost, are openly supporting terror groups,” the president claimed. According to Erdogan, this may backfire as “terror organizations will eventually attack the nations that support them, too.”
