The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone was confirmed at 2.6% in July, according to Eurostat's second estimate released on Tuesday. The European Union saw its consumer price index (CPI) grow by 2.8% on a yearly basis. The highest annual rates were seen in Romania and Belgium at 5.8% and 5.4% respectively, while the lowest were in Finland at 0.5% and Latvia at 0.8%.
Compared to June, the euro area CPI remained unchanged, and the index for the EU increased by 0.1%. Core inflation in the Eurozone was confirmed at 2.9% on a yearly basis, falling by 0.2% month-on-month.
