The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Eurozone increased by 0.2% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, according to the second preliminary report by Eurostat on Tuesday. The figure was in line with expectations and confirmed the previous estimate issued at the end of October.
The European Union's GDP also rose by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter. On a yearly basis, the euro area GDP was up by 2.1%, while the EU saw its economy grow by 2.4%.
Meanwhile, the number of employed people both in the Eurozone and the EU increased by 0.2% quarter-over-quarter. Employment rose 1.7% and 1.5% respectively on a yearly basis.
