Eurozone's construction output in March decreased by 2.4% in comparison to the month before, Eurostat revealed in its report on Monday. In the entire European Union, the figure was down 1.9%. On the annual basis, the construction output shrank by 1.5% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the bloc.
Compared to February, building construction fell by 2.4%, while civil engineering slid 2.3% in the Eurozone, dropping by 1.8% and 2.3% in the EU respectively. In comparison to March 2022, the euro area's civil engineering and building construction slipped by 2.2% and 1.3%, while in the bloc they declined by 1.8% and 1.2%.
In March, annual construction output declined the most in Slovakia, falling by 10.3%, followed by Hungary's 9.8% drop, and Czechia's 6.1% decrease.
