Retail sales in the Eurozone decreased by 0.3% in June compared to May, according to Eurostat's report released on Tuesday. Retail trade was down by 0.1% month-on-month in the European Union. Compared to June 2023, retail sales fell by 0.3% in the euro area but increased by 0.1% in the EU.
Month-on-month, the Eurozone saw a drop in the sales of food, drinks and tobacco by 0.7%, non-food products by 0.1%, and automotive fuel in specialized stores by 0.5%. Annually, sales of food, drinks and tobacco recorded a 0.7% drop, non-food products were down by 0.3%, and automotive fuel in specialized stores fell by 0.3%.
