Euro rates ahead of ECB decision

The euro was stable ahead of the monetary policy decision by the European Central Bank (ECB) expected at 1:45 p.m. CET. The ECB's President Mario Draghi will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. CET.

The ECB has held the following rates since June 2. The main refinancing operations rate stood at 0.00%. The marginal lending facility rate was at 0.25%. The deposit facility rate was set at -0.40%.

Here's the look at the spot rates 10 minutes before the ECB announcement.

The euro was 0.02% stronger against the U.S. dollar at $1.1017.

It rose 0.30% versus the British pound to £0.8360.

The euro fell 0.01% against the Swiss franc to 1.0867.

The euro fell 0.60% against the Japanese yen to ¥117.024. The yen surged after BoJ's Haruhiko Kuroda said there will be no "helicopter money."
