Europe closes higher after fresh batch of data

Major European stock indexes ended Monday's trading session in the green as investors assessed the latest business activity reports from the Eurozone, the United Kingdom, and Germany, as well as services sector activity data from Italy, France, and Spain. Additionally, Germany's Destatis revealed that the country's annual inflation climbed by 2.6% in December.

The DAX added 1.58% at the open as Infineon Technologies AG surged 8.18%. The FTSE 100 improved by 0.28% with Jd Sports Fashion plc jumping 4.44%. The CAC 40 advanced 2.25%, and STMicroelectronics NV rose 7.86%. The Euro Stoxx climbed by 2.35% as ASML Holding NV soared 8.69%.

The euro gained 0.93% compared to the dollar to sell for $1.04012 at 5:30 pm CET. At the same time, the pound was up 0.85% against the greenback, going for $1.25330.
