Major European stock markets ended Wednesday's session with gains following a meeting of the European Central Bank's Governing Council on its anti-inflationary policy.
As the dispute on the Northern Ireland Protocol between the United Kingdom and the European Union continued, investors awaited the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision due to be announced later today.
The DAX soared 1.36% or 180 points at the closing bell. The FTSE 100 gained 1.20%, while the CAC 40 rose 1.35%. The euro stood slightly in the red against the dollar to sell for 1.04065 at 5:28 pm CET, while the pound grew 0.53% to $1.20606.
