Major European stocks ended Tuesday's session in negative territory as markets awaited the latest inflation data from Germany, as well as a new monetary policy decision and GDP data from the United Kingdom scheduled for release throughout this week.
The DAX traded flat at the close. The Euro Stoxx 50 declined by 0.59%, with Prosus NV plunging 4.93%. The FTSE 100 fell by 0.18%, pulled by Unite Group Plc's 4.52% decrease. The CAC 40 lost 0.59%, as Eurofins Scientific SE sank by 4.12%.
The euro slipped 0.44% against the dollar to sell for 1.09568 at 5:30 pm CET, while the pound stood unchanged at $1.26155 after previously reaching a one-year high against the American currency.
