Major stock markets in Europe closed lower on Thursday as traders digested the European Central Bank meeting accounts and September's consumer inflation reading for the United States.
Germany's DAX declined 0.23% at the closing bell, with Rheinmetall AG down 3.68%. France's CAC 40 was down 0.24% as Teleperformance SE dropped 2.76%. The Euro Stoxx 50 decreased 0.25% with Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. losing 2.34%. The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 Index lost 00.7% in the wake of Taylor Wimpey PLC ORD crashing 4.94%.
The euro weakened 0.13% against the dollar, selling for $1.09245 at 5:29 pm CET, while the pound sterling weakened 0.15% versus the greenback, going for $1.30444.
