European stock markets ended the trading session on Wednesday mostly with gains as investors analyzed the latest report from the European Commission regarding consumer confidence in the euro area and the UK's Autumn Statement, which projected that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) would grow at a rate of 0.6% in 2023 and 0.7% in 2024.
At the closing bell, the DAX added 0.36%. The best performer was Symrise AG, whose stock grew 2.76%. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose 0.48%. Ferrari, up 1.73%, led the gains on the index. The CAC 40 closed 0.43% higher as Capgemini climbed 3.07 %. At the same time, the FTSE 100 lost 0.17%, with Kingfisher Plc plunging 6.98%.
The euro traded 0.40% lower than the dollar at 5:29 pm CET, selling for 1.08686. The pound was 0.61% down compared to the US currency, changing hands for 1.24620 simultaneously.
