Europe extends gains, DAX up over 1.5%

Major stock indexes extended gains during the Thursday session, with DAX jumping over 1.5%, as companies posted record earnings reports. Meanwhile, investors are closely focusing on the Bank of England and the European Central Bank, which are poised to reveal their interest rate moves later in the day, as the battle against high inflation continues.

The DAX skyrocketed 1.52% or 230 points at 10:59 am CET, while the FTSE 100 rose 0.53% at the same time. The Euro Stoxx 50 rallied 1.16% and the CAC 40 gained 0.63% simultaneously. The euro traded 0.06% higher against the dollar at 11:04 am CET, selling for 1.09945. The pound declined 0.29% against the greenback to go for 1.23383 concurrently.
