Europe futures rise ahead of ECB's rate call

Major equities in the Old Continent ticked higher in the premarket session on Thursday as investors awaited the latest monetary policy decision from the European Central Bank (ECB), set to be released today. The ECB is expected to leave interest rates unchanged following a string of cuts earlier this year. Meanwhile, the top EU leaders engaged in trade talks with China in Beijing.

The DAX gained 1.12% at 8:01 am CET, while the Euro Stoxx 50 added 1.38% and the CAC 40 increased by 0.74%. London's FTSE 100 traded 0.49% above the line.

At 7:53 am CET, the euro and the pound were both flat against the dollar to change hands for 1.17732 and 1.35778, respectively.
