Major stock exchanges in Europe traded flat to lower in the premarket on Friday as investors awaited clarity on the potential meeting between United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Moscow has until today to decide whether or not it will accept a ceasefire.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the Bank of England (BoE) cut its interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point, with Governor Andrew Bailey commenting that the monetary policy path is getting more uncertain.
The DAX declined 0.19% at 8:00 am CET. At the same time, the Euro Stoxx 50, the CAC 40, and the FTSE 100 were all flat.
The euro traded 0.23% lower compared to the dollar at 7:59 am CET, selling at 1.16408. Concurrently, the pound traded 0.14% below the greenback, going for 1.34261.
