Europe higher premarket ahead of oil embargo decision

Major indexes in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Monday as investors are waiting today for the release of more economic data and news on the military operation in Ukraine.

European Union leaders meet again today to declare their sustained support for Ukraine amid concerns over the inability to agree on a new package of sanctions against Moscow. However, European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, said earlier that the final decision on the oil embargo would be made later during the day.

The DAX gained 0.85% or 122 points at 8:02 am CET, while the CAC 40 added 0.56%, and the FTSE 100 rose 0.36%. The euro improved by 0.17% against the dollar at 8:01 am CET, selling for $1.07539. In comparison, the pound grew by 0.08% to go for $1.26427 at the same time.
