Europe jumps in premarket ahead of ECB decision

European indexes posted significant gains in Thursday's premarket trading as investors awaited the European Central Bank's interest rate decision, with the ECB widely expected to lower rates again after cutting them in June for the first time since 2019.

The Euro Stoxx 50 ralied 1.86% at 8:00 am CET, the CAC 40 surged 1.53%, the DAX jumped 0.84%, and the FTSE 100 increased by 0.33% at the same time.

The euro added 0.08% against the dollar to go for 1.10207 at 7:57 am CET and the pound gained 0.08% compared to the greenback to sell for 1.30535 a minute later.
