Report: Trump's lawyers failed to find classified docs alluded on tape

EPA-EFE/SHAWN THEW

Ex-President Donald Trump's lawyers have been unable to find classified documents alluded to in a 2021 recording, CNN reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Previously, it was learned that Trump was recorded discussing his possession of sensitive Pentagon files. After learning of the recording, prosecutors issued a subpoena to try to find "any and all" of the documents, including maps and allegedly files describing a plan to invade Iraq, the sources said.

According to the report, prosecutors have made it clear to Trump's attorneys that they want the Iran document he discusses in the recording, as well as any other similar material, such as meeting memos and audio tapes.
