European stock exchanges opened flat to higher on the last day of the week following earnings reports by Sanofi, Eni and NatWest. Yesterday, the European Central Bank decided not to raise interest rates for the first time since July 2022.
The DAX advanced 0.12% at 9:03 am CET with its best performer Siemens Energy up 4.80% a minute later. The FTSE 100 and the CAC 40 were flat at 9:00 am CET and at 9:05 am CET, respectively. The EURO STOXX 50 gained 0.47% at 9:00 am CET with Unicredit increasing 2.85% at 9:02 am CET.
The euro was 0.10% lower compared to the dollar, selling at 1.05534 at 8:59 am CET. The British pound decreased by 0.07% against the greenback, going for 1.21212 at the same time.
