European stock exchanges opened flat to lower as investors digested the latest wave of corporate earnings releases. Deutsche Telekom AG, Siemens AG, and EasyJet PLC reported their financial statements before the opening bell.
The annual inflation rate in Italy will published later today.
The DAX was down 0.07% and the Euro Stoxx 50 fell 0.09% as Bayerische Motoren Werke AG shed 5.69%. The FTSE 100 and the CAC 40 were flat. The euro lost 0.08% against the dollar, selling at 1.08761. The pound sterling was down 0.07% compared to the greenback, trading at 1.26769.
