Major European stock indices opened higher as investors anticipated key economic data, including reports on consumer confidence and the consumer price index from Germany.
The DAX gained 0.63% or 120 points at 9:02 am CET, with Porshe up by 1.97%. The CAC 40 added 0.38% a minute later, while Teleperformance improved by 2.27%. For its part, the FTSE 100 rose 0.15%, as Spirax-Sarco Engineering rose by3.12%. Finally, at 9:04 am CET, the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 edged up 0.77%, and ASML Holding led gains, trading 4.11% higher.
In currency markets, the euro and the British pound were down 0.22% and 0.21% against the dollar at 8:57 am CET, trading at $1.05421 and $1.26514 simultaneously.
