EPA-EFE/STRINGER

United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) condemned on Wednesday another incident involving the Israeli army which targeted a peacekeeper position in Lebanon.

In a post on X, UNIFIL detailed that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fired at a watchtower of the peacekeepers located close to Kafer Kela. As a result, the tower was damaged, with two cameras destroyed.

"Yet again we see direct and apparently deliberate fire on a UNIFIL position," it was written in the post. UNIFIL called on the Israeli military to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel, as well as to "respect the inviolability of UN premises at all times."
