Europe's major stock markets opened higher on Thursday as investors continue to process earnings reports from the area's leading companies.
Earlier, Siemens reported that revenues for the third quarter surged by 10% to €18.9 billion. At the same time, Deutsche Telekom AG saw an increase in net profit in the second quarter of fiscal 2023, and Allianz SE revealed a total revenue of €39.6 billion.
At 9:00 am CET, the French benchmark CAC 40 added 0.70%, while TotalEnergies SE improved by 1.17%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.22%, as St. James’s Place increased by 1.26%.
One minute later, the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 went up by 0.73%, and Vonovia was leading the gains, rising by 3.89%.
The German DAX rose 0.39% at 9:03 am CET, with Sartorius AG VZO being the best at the open, up 2.14%.
The euro and the pound were up by 0.19% and 0.10% against the dollar at 8:58 am CET, selling for $1.09955 and $1.27319 simultaneously.
