Major European stocks kicked off Monday's session in positive territory as business and political leaders, investors and economists start to gather in Davos for the annual summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Meanwhile, a report on the latest sentiment on economic conditions in Germany will be revealed tomorrow by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).
The Euro Stoxx 50 climbed 0.12% at the opening bell, with Deutsche Post gaining 1.32%. Frankfurt's DAX advanced 0.17%, as Deutsche Bank added 1.08%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.19%, as Air Liquide led the gains by 0.76%. London's FTSE 100 rose 0.17%, with Prudential going up 2.20%.
Both the euro and the pound sterling traded flat against the dollar, to change hands for 1.08308 and 1.22299 at 8:58 am CET, respectively.
