Major European markets opened in the red on Tuesday as investors awaited more economic data reports, including composite purchasing managers' index (PMI) figures from across the continent and the producer price index report from the Eurozone.
The Euro Stoxx 50 slid 0.59% at 9:01 am CET. Delhaize, whose shares tumbled 4.56%, led the losses.
The DAX was 0.64% in the red at 9:02 am CET. The worst performer was Commerzbank, down 1.96%.
The CAC 40 fell 0.59% at 9:00 am CET as Carrefour dived 2.68%.
The FTSE 100 declined 0.32% at 9:00 am CET with B&M European Value Retail dropping 3.92%.
The euro lost 0.27% against the dollar to sell for 1.07661 at 8:59 am CET and the pound decreased 0.34% compared to the greenback to go for 1.25838 at the same time.
