Major European stock indexes traded lower at the open on Wednesday as inflation reports, alongside interest rate talks, remained at the center of attention.
The annual inflation in the United Kingdom clocked in at 10.7% in November, coming in cooler than expected. Meanwhile, central banks all over the globe are expected to reveal their newest monetary policy moves this week.
The DAX lost 0.31% at the opening bell, with Vonovia tumbling 1.62% at 9:03 am CET. The CAC 40 fell 0.26% at 9:00 am CET, as ArcelorMittal declined 1.41% a minute later. The FTSE 100 decreased 0.28% at the open, with Taylor Wimpey sliding 2.02% at 9:02 am CET.
Both the euro and the pound traded flat against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, selling at 1.06315 and 1.23635, respectively.
