Major European stock indexes opened mixed on Monday ahead of the Bank of England's (BoE) monetary policy decision expected later today. Investors also digested the United Kingdom's unemployment numbers and Germany's producer inflation figures for February while eyeing the European Central Bank's Economic Bulletin and construction output in the Eurozone.
The DAX and the Euro Stoxx 50 were flat at the opening bell. The FTSE 100 added 0.12% as Prudential PLC improved by 1.98%. At the same time, the CAC 40 dropped by 0.14% as LVMH lost 0.87%.
The euro lost 0.16% against the dollar and sold for $1.08844 at 8:59 am CET. Meanwhile, the pound was down by 0.21% and sold for $1.29774.
