Major European stock markets opened mixed on Wednesday as investors digested earnings, including those from major banks with Deutsche Bank, UniCredit, Santander, Standard Chartered and Barclays all reporting before the bell.
The DAX opened flat and the Euro Stoxx 50 lost 0.33% at 9:05 am CET with Infineon falling 2.34%.
The CAC 40 declined 0.09% at 9:04 am CET. Dassault Systemes led the losses, falling 3.71%.
Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 gained 0.16% at 9:02 am CET. The best performer was Standard Chartered, whose shares climbed 1.73% on upbeat earnings.
The euro added 0.19% against the dollar to sell for 0.99833 at 9:01 am CET and the pound was up 0.06% compared to the US currency, going for 1.14746 at the same time.
