Major stock markets in Europe opened mostly lower on Wednesday as investors had their attention placed on inflation reports that came from the United Kingdom showing a slightly higher-than-expected figure in consumer prices and a monthly increase in producer prices. During the day, the inflation figure from the European Union will be known.
The German Dax opened falling by 0.11% with Infineon Tech AG decreasing 1.46% at 9:03 am CET. The Euro Stoxx 50 started losing 0.24% as ASML Holding NV plummeted 5.08% at 9:02 am CET. The British FTSE 100 fell 0.31% at the beginning of the trading session with Flutter Entertainment PLC losing 1.57% at 9:01 am CET. Meanwhile, the French CAC 40 opened with gains of 0.37% with LVMH increasing 1.80% at 9:02 am CET.
The euro traded 0.16% higher against the dollar going for 1.06362 at 8:58 am CET and the pound gained 0.39% compared to the greenback, going for 1.24752 simultaneously.
