Most stock markets in Europe opened Friday with gains as data releases took center stage of today's trading session, with all eyes on reports on the manufacturing and services sectors for the Eurozone, Germany, and Britain. In addition, Italy's inflation data will be released later in the day.
The DAX traded flat at the opening bell while the FTSE 100 slumped by 0.18% as Gsk PLC fell 1.30%. The CAC 40 added 0.28% and the Euro Stoxx 50 improved by 19% with Air Liquide SA climbing 3.17% a minute later.
The euro and the pound both traded flat against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, going for 1.04928 and 1.26702, respectively.
