Major stock indexes in Europe closed the Friday session with losses following disappointing results in the private sector activity across the continent. The economic prints seemingly spurred further concerns over the future of the global economy.
The DAX slid 0.99% at the closing bell as Siemens Energy dragged the index down by 37.34%. At the same time, the CAC 40 declined 0.55%, with Eurofins Scientific down 2.95%. The Euro Stoxx 50 finished with a 0.76% loss, with Infineon tumbling 3.85%. The FTSE 100 declined 0.54% at the close, as Ocado flopped 5.32%.
The euro traded 0.67% below the dollar at 5:32 pm CET, selling for 1.08826. The pound slipped 0.29% against the greenback to go for 1.27095 simultaneously.
