Europe up at close after earnings results

Major European stock exchanges closed higher on Tuesday after Novartis, Barclays, and UniCredit earnings data for the third quarter of 2023 were released. In addition, the latest United Kingdom PMI report showed the highest reading in two months.

The DAX increased 0.54% at the close as MTU Aero Engines AG skyrocketed 6.10%. At the same time, the FTSE 100 gained 0.20% with Rio Tinto PLC jumping 3.47%. The CAC 40 and the Eurostoxx 50 were up 0.63%. and 0.58% simultaneously with Hermes International SA rising 2.78%.

The euro was down 0.78% to the dollar at 5:30 am CET to sell for $1.05864. At the same time, the pound sterling fell 0.70% against the greenback to change hands for $1.21630.
