Representatives from Europe urged on Friday both Israel and Iran to refrain from actions that could lead to the escalation of the conflict and stressed that all parties should find a solution that would ensure Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon.
"E3 Ministers [United Kingdom, France, Germany] and the High Representative of the European Union reiterated their longstanding concerns about Iran's expansion of its nuclear programme, which has no credible civilian purpose, in violation of almost all JCPoA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] provisions," it was said in a joint statement following a meeting between officials from Europe and Iran. All parties discussed steps towards "negotiated solution" regarding Iranian nuclear program and expressed their willingness to continue dialogue, while also acknowledging Washington's efforts on the matter.
The European representatives reaffirmed their support for Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi, and called on Tehran to show cooperation with the agency.
