European gas drops as production increases

EPA-EFE/ACHILLEAS CHIRAS

Natural gas prices in Europe continued dropping for the third day in a row to one-week lows as the end of the heating season neared, bringing a dip in demand. Shell said earlier today that its output in the first quarter exceeded the previous quarter's production by 0.2 million to 0.6 million tonnes, reaching between 7 million and 7.4 million tonnes. TotalEnergies said it will invest $10 billion in Iraq's gas and oil facilities.

Dutch TTF natural gas for delivery in May dropped 3.75% to sell for €42.9 per megawatt hour at 3:52 pm CET. UK natural gas futures for the same month were down by 4.67%, going for 101.5 pence per therm at 3:41 pm CET.
