European markets closed higher on Thursday, reversing early losses as the first trading session of 2025 concluded.
At the close, the DAX gained 0.48%, while the CAC 40 added 0.15%, and the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 increased 0.36%. Airbus Group led the gains in the three indexes, up by 3.35%. At the same time, the FTSE 100 rose 0.93%, as Fresnillo rose by 4.34%
At 5:29 pm CET, the euro and the British pound were down by 0.94% and 1.12% against the dollar, selling for $1.02546 and $1.23764 simultaneously.
