Major European markets traded lower on Thursday, awaiting today's key interest rate decision by the European Central Bank. Markets expect the bank will increase its key rate to 3.25% as inflation in the area rose in April to 7%.
At 7:19 am CET, the DAX was flat, while the CAC 40 fell 0.14%, and the FTSE 100 declined by 0.19%. The pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 went down by 0.22%.
The euro improved by 0.20% against the dollar at 7:23 am CET, selling for $1.10837. The pound grew by 0.18% to go for $1.25865 simultaneously.
