Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.2% in the third quarter of 2022 in both Eurozone and the European Union, when compared to the previous three-month period, a preliminary report by European Commission's Eurostat revealed on Monday.
In comparison to the corresponding quarter the year before, the GDP rose by 2.1% in the euro area, and 2.4% in the bloc. The highest growth was recorded in Sweden with 0.7% compared to the previous trimester, followed by Italy with 0.5%, and Portugal and Lithuania registering a 0.4% increase respectively.
On the other hand, the largest contraction of GDP was observed in Latvia with 1.7%, as well as Austria and Belgium where the figure stood at negative 0.1%.
