Construction output in the Eurozone observed a monthly rise of 0.2% in January, the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat revealed in its report published on Thursday. On the other hand, in the European Union, the figure declined by 0.2%. Year-on-year, the activity increased by 0.2% in the EU and remained stable in the euro area.
The Eurozone saw the highest monthly growth in building construction at 0.9%, while civil engineering dropped by 1% and specialized construction activities by 0.1%. On an annual level, construction of buildings went up by 1.8% and civil engineering by 0.9%, while specialized construction activities decreased by 0.3%.
