Industrial production in the euro area decreased by 1.1% in September compared to the previous month and 6.9% on a yearly basis, according to the latest report by Eurostat on Wednesday.
According to the report, in the same month, industrial production in the EU fell by 0.9% compared to August and by 6.1% year over year. By main industrial grouping, production of durable consumer goods and non-durable consumer goods fell the most, both by 2.1%, while in the EU, production of durable consumer goods fell by 2.4%.
Among the member states, the biggest monthly drops were recorded in Belgium (-3.2%), Portugal (-3.0%), Estonia and Ireland (-2.9%).
