FBI launches task force to investigate Tesla attacks

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Office of Public Affairs Assistant Director Ben Williamson confirmed on Monday that the agency has created a task force to investigate the attack on Tesla Inc.'s vehicles and charging stations.

"Can confirm: The FBI has launched a Task Force in conjunction with ATF [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] to coordinate investigative activity and crack down on violent Tesla attacks. More to come," he tweeted.

The announcement came after explosive devices were found at the company's showroom in Austin, Texas, and a series of attacks on Tesla's vehicles, seemingly linked to the owner Elon Musk's role in United States President Donald Trump's presidency. Musk himself said he received "a lot of death threats" over it.
