The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorized SpaceX to deploy its Starlink terminals to vehicles in motion.

The FCC noted the move will expand the country's range of broadband capabilities and "meet the growing user demands that now require connectivity while on the move."

Prior to seeking authority to "deploy and operate" these earth stations, the company inked preliminary deals with some commercial air carriers in order to provide Wi-Fi to their planes.
