The International Association Football Federation (FIFA) announced on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia is the only country that submitted a candidacy to host the 2034 World Cup.

The deadline for presenting the bids was October 31, 2023, and due to the organization's rules of rotating hosts, only national associations from Asia and Oceania could participate. Moreover, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco reaffirmed their "declarations of interest" to host the 2030 edition.

"In accordance with these regulations, the FIFA administration will conduct a targeted dialogue with bidders, to ensure complete, comprehensive bids are received and evaluated against the minimum hosting requirements," FIFA said. "Following this, FIFA will publish its evaluation reports and, should those requirements be met, the member associations gathered at the FIFA Congress will appoint the hosts of the respective competitions."
