US new home sales down 0.6% in June

Sales of new single‐family houses came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 617,000 in June, the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development shared in a report released on Wednesday.

Month on month, the figure fell 0.6%. On an annual level, the reading slid 7.4%.

In June, the median sales price of new houses sold amounted to $417,300, while the average sales price was $487,200. The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June stood at 476,000, translating to a 9.3-month supply at the current rate of sales.
