Former United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci will testify before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic on the country's handling of COVID-19, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Thursday.
"As the former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States [Joe Biden], you have knowledge pertinent to both investigating and evaluating the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also preparing for future pandemics," the subcommittee's head Brad Wenstrup said in an e-mail to Fauci obtained by the WSJ.
Fauci was one of the key members of former President Donald Trump's White House Coronavirus Task Force. The e-mail Wenstrup sent to him did not specify any date for the hearing.
